The Convention reaffirms the universal principles (dignity, integrality, equality and non-discrimination) on which it is based the general obligations of Governments regarding the integration of the various dimensions of disability in their policies, as well as the specific obligations regarding the awareness of society to disability, combating stereotypes and valuing people with disabilities.
