FNSBS meets the national projects funded by the Daphne-Child Programme
The 3-year European Daphne-Child Programme, led by Eurochild and Terre des Hommes, entitled ‘Ensuring Children’s Safety from Violence – Supporting Grassroots Civil Society Organisations that Defend Children’s Rights to Combat Violence against Children’, has the general objective of contributing to the capacity building of civil society organisations working in the field of combating violence against children in 9 selected European countries: Bulgaria, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
The programme received a total of 108 applications from 107 civil society organisations at European level, 13 of which were Portuguese. Of these, 6 were selected for funding. These were
- Almada Mundo – International Association for Education, Training and Innovation;
- Akto – Human Rights and Democracy;
- CódigAtomiko Youth Association;
- Instituto de Apoio à Criança (IAC);
- Braga branch of the Portuguese Red Cross;
- Portuguese Association for Developmental Disorders and Autism – Algarve (APPDA-Algarve).
FNSBS was the National Focal Point for this Programme between June 2024 and May 2025 and, as part of this, was invited to take part in an informal meeting at the IAC headquarters in Lisbon on 2 June, which was also attended by Eurochild’s Secretary General and Partnerships and Programmes Coordinator, as well as representatives from Almada Mundo, Akto, CódigAtomiko and the IAC, where we had the opportunity to find out more about the funded projects.
